National Tree Day: Varisco & Co.'s contribution to environmental protection

On 21 November, International Tree Day, we celebrate the value of a natural heritage that protects our lives every day: trees. They preserve biodiversity, improve air quality, regulate the climate and absorb CO₂, helping to mitigate the effects of climate change.
For us at Varisco & Co., this day is the perfect opportunity to transparently share the results and concrete actions with which, day after day, we are building an increasingly responsible business model.
In 2024, we continued to pursue our goal of reducing our environmental impact with determination, achieving significant results:
Total emissions in 2024: 37.6 tCO₂e
Reduction compared to 2023: –14.39%
Self-produced energy: 5.2 MWh
–38% emissions thanks to the new hybrid delivery vehicle
These numbers represent much more than just data: they are evidence of concrete change, the result of daily choices and targeted investments.
The warehouse's commitment: reuse, recycle and zero waste
A fundamental part of the results achieved comes from our warehouse, which works carefully every day to ensure sustainability:
♻️ 95% of pallets in good condition are recovered from suppliers and reused for our shipments.
📦 90% of the packaging received is recovered and reused for new shipments.
🟫 Internally produced packaging material is 100% reused: waste paper is shredded and reused as protective material.
🗑️Non-recyclable packaging is disposed of correctly through separate collection, in full compliance with current regulations.
Simple but highly effective practices that reduce waste, extend the life of materials and make a tangible contribution to reducing overall emissions.
315 trees: the value of reducing emissions
In 2024, we avoided 6.3 tonnes of CO₂e compared to the previous year.
To give a clear picture of what this result means, we translate it into a universally recognized natural value:
6.3 tCO₂e corresponds to the annual absorption of approximately 315 mature trees.
A small forest that ideally grows alongside us and symbolises the positive impact generated by our daily work.
