A Strategic Collaboration for the Environment: GLS and ClimatePartner
Our commitment to sustainability is supported by a strategic partnership with GLS, a leading national freight forwarding operator. GLS not only provides high-quality logistics services, but also adopts an environmental strategy to offset CO2 emissions generated by transportation. Through collaboration with ClimatePartner, a specialized and certified climate protection agency, GLS implements significant environmental conservation and green energy production projects. These projects are financed through the “Climate Protect” contribution applied to customers who choose to join the sustainability program.
Projects Funded by Varisco & Co.
We are excited to actively contribute to two important forest protection projects in South America that aim to preserve biodiversity and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Below are details of the projects supported through our efforts:
Pacajá Forest Protection Project, Brazil (WTW Transport Emissions 01.2023 - 12.2023): This project is critical to the protection of tropical forests in the Amazon region of Brazil. The Pacajá forest plays a crucial role in absorbing carbon, helping to combat climate change globally. Through our contribution, we were able to offset the equivalent of 406 kg of CO2, helping to preserve this valuable ecosystem.
Madre de Dios Forest Protection Project, Peru (WTW Transport Emissions 04.2022 - 12.2022): Located in the Amazon region of Peru, Madre de Dios is one of the richest areas of biodiversity on the planet. Our support for this project helped offset 151 kg of CO2-equivalent. The goal is to protect forests from deforestation and degradation, ensuring the survival of many species and supporting local communities.
