Description
The pressure regulator (or pressure reducer) is a device that acts on a fluid liquid or gaseous, contained in a tank or a pipeline, capable of providing “downstream” (after the pressure regulator) a predefined and constant pressure value, different from the “upstream” value ( before the pressure regulator), and within the operating limits.

The pressure regulator finds application in control systems, where at a design level it is useful or necessary to obtain a change of state for a specific pressure value.
